Dundrum Town Centre
Launched in 2005, Dundrum Town Centre transformed the village of Dundrum into a destination. The centre acts as a retail and leisure hub for the wider South Dublin area and employs over 3,000 people.
Dundrum Town Centre set a new standard for commercial development in Ireland and transformed the village of Dundrum into a destination. Launched by Castlethorn in 2005, the vibrant centre combines retail, commercial and leisure facilities – including a multiplex cinema, a community theatre and an outdoor family plaza – and attracts visitors from across South Dublin and beyond.
Due to the quality and scale of the development, Castlethorn was able to attract a number of international retailers who were new to the Irish market, offering a greater level of choice for shoppers. Open seven days a week and operating as both a day and evening venue, Dundrum Town Centre now provides direct employment to over 3,000 people.
The development was sensitively designed to integrate as seamlessly as possible into the local community and, as a busy retail and leisure hub, careful attention was paid to reducing its environmental impact. Castlethorn’s efforts were recognised in 2015 when Dundrum Town Centre was awarded the first-ever Ecocert in Ireland.
