Grand Canal Square

Designed by internationally renowned architect Daniel Libeskind, Grand Canal Square is an iconic commercial and cultural hub comprising 400,000 sq ft of office space and the landmark Bord Gáis Energy Theatre.

As part of the regeneration of Dublin’s Docklands, Castlethorn developed a commercial and cultural centre in the burgeoning Grand Canal area. Grand Canal Square is a mixed-use development featuring 400,000 sq ft of office space, a theatre and 222 car parking spaces.

Internationally renowned architect Daniel Libeskind was commissioned to design this dynamic urban gathering place, which incorporates the landmark Bord Gáis Energy Theatre (formerly the Grand Canal Theatre). Seating 2,111, and as the largest fixed-seat venue in Ireland, the theatre has transformed Dublin’s entertainment landscape.

The development is also home to Facebook’s European HQ, along with other key tenants Capita and William Fry.

In 2006, Grand Canal Square received BREEAM Excellent certification.
